A Bamboo Offering Urn
$870
Offering urns or hsun-oks were used to bring food or ceremonial offerings to the temple on Sabbath days. They are usually made from coiled and woven strips of rattan sealed by many layers of natural black or red lacquer. Some, however were made from large blocks of wood that have been hollowed out. These are the most difficult to make and the strongest.
