A Neolithic Painted Pottery Jar

Majiayao Culture, China, c. 2300–1700 BCE Painted terracotta jar featuring a rounded body with loop handles and finely executed geometric motifs characteristic of Neolithic Chinese pottery traditions. Vessels of this type were used for storage, ritual offerings, and funerary purposes within early agrarian communities.
