A Blue and White "Double Happiness" Jar Lamp (Copy)

This elegant jar beautifully bears the "Double Happiness" symbol, which in Chinese culture indicates a balanced and harmonious union. The two identical characters are present and embedded in each other. In other words, it is a symbol of joy, good luck, and fortune. Known colloquially as "ginger jars", they were in fact used to hold dried herbs and roots, tea, and other foodstuffs. This vintage jar was converted into a lamp and wired for use in the U.S. The shade is black linen.
