A Chinese Chest of Drawers

A Northern Chinese sideboard from Shanxi Province, dating to circa 1900. Crafted from elm, the piece features a substantial plank top, multiple drawers with traditional ring pulls, and carved detailing across the upper drawer fronts and shaped lower apron. Originally used for practical household or merchant storage, the sideboard combines generous functionality with the warm patina and restrained ornament characteristic of late Qing dynasty furniture. Its long, low profile makes it well suited as a console, sideboard, or media cabinet.
