A De Stijl Style Bookshelf
$4,800
This sharply rectilinear bookshelf is inspired by the Dutch De Stijl movement of the 1930's. It is made from teak veneer, painted over with red lacquer and finished in black lacquer. The corners have been buffed to reveal the red undercoat. The piece features chrome legs and dates to the 1980's. The exact origin is unknown. The cubes are joined together with wooden dowels and are separable. The piece makes a very strong presence and is ideal for combining books and artifacts. Sturdy and heavy, it can be placed in the center of a room.
