A Louis XV Style Fauteuil, c. 1880

This hand-carved walnut French lounge chair has generous proportions and elegant cabriole legs. The carving is quite fine and the condition of the wood joinery is firm and tight. The upholstery is new but the springs and stuffing appear to be original. The chair is in good, useable condition, considering age, but there are several old repairs and some wear. The casters on the front legs are original to the piece.
