A Pair of Hungarian Art Deco Side tables

This austere and elegant pair of Hungarian side tables has been newly restored. The original macassar wood veneers have been carefully rubbed and repolished, removing the scratches and abrasions that are the product of normal use. Hungarian Art Deco thrived through the 1930's and 40's and is prized for its simplicity and quality of construction. The Hungarians transferred their skill with 19th century Biedermeier furniture directly into more modern designs in the interwar years. During the Socialist era, these pieces were largely unknown outside of Hungary. These tables are probably from the later end of the period -1940's or even 50's. Price for a pair.
