An Indian Architectural Arcade With Three Arches

An Indian Architectural Arcade With Three Arches

$12,500
This splendid Indo-Saracenic three-arch arcade, crafted from sheesham wood, is from the courtyard of a vintage haveli in Gujarat. The wooden arcade is adorned with intricate marigold carvings, symbolizing good luck. The arches curve gracefully up to form an Indian chhatri dome silhouette, with hanging pomegranates and betel nuts growing from the ends, representing fertility and hospitality. The column shafts have square stone bases and rounded fluting, incorporating acanthus and lotus motifs, which symbolize life and purity. This piece is in original condition with minor restoration. The stone bases are original to the piece.
