Han Dynasty Horse on A Metal Stand

Han Dynasty (206BC -220 AD) Chinese figure of a central Asian horse in terra cotta. It was covered in a light yellow slip, which is abraded in some areas, revealing the dark gray underbody.  It was unglazed. These pieces were buried for the afterlife and discovered in the mid-1990’s to about 2010, due to building construction in old cities. This is a superior piece, large and well-formed.
