Indian Textile Print Blocks
$1,350
These wooden print blocks were once used to imprint textiles with sophisticated patterns. The blocks, which could be curved or linear, geometric or floral in design, were used to apply wax to the cloth, preventing the absorption of color when the cloth was dyed. The wax was then removed by boiling the cloth and collected for re-use. The fabric would then be dyed with a second color. Size VARIES. Approximately 6"W x 1.5"D x 8"H
