The Golden Triangle is more than an antique store, it's also one of the city's most unique event spaces. These events include private parties, design industry gatherings and charity fundraisers. The first charity event in our new store on West Grand was held by Room to Read, a San Francisco-based non-profit. Room to Read promotes literacy in the developing world, especially among girls.
This was Room to Read's first major fundraiser in over 2 years. Guests started to arrive just after 6:00 PM, many taking advantage of the free valet parking. A social hour was followed by a brief presentation about their special work in India.
A caterer was brought in by one of the trustees and patrons enjoyed wines and specialty cocktails. The Red Riding Hood String Quartet performed selections from their chamber music repertoire throughout the evening. Golden Triangle staff were on hand at all times to make sure that everything ran smoothly and to assist in clean-up.
Director Kay Nixon brought in AV electronics company to enhance her presentation, which was delivered beneath our newly-installed Indian palace wall. The event was a huge success, more than 75 people attended and approximately $125,000 was raised in one night!
